I'm a huge powermetal fan, especially finnish powermetal, bands like Thunderstone, Sonata Arctica and Dreamtale (let's not mention Stratovarius here, because they suck) Twilighting is one of the newer finnish powermetal bands and Delirium Veil is their debut album. From the booklet you can see that the band members are very young, but they sure dont have any lack of talent I can tell you. Twilightning has the same trademark
finnish powermetal sound and style like those bands I mentioned earlier,
but theres something more here, the singer is one of the best ones around,
The keyboards on the album are brilliant,
sometimes when I listen it I just focus on the keyboards The ballads on powermetal albums are
usually a little too cheesy, its almost true with Delirium Veil
also, but the only ballad on this cd gets a little heavier near the
end, and lyrics arent nearly as cheesy as some Hammerfall ballads have.
All other songs except Under somber skies (the ballad) So in conclusion I can say that Finnish
powermetal scene has another great band. Last year we had Thunderstone's
debut album, and it was a nearly 5 star album also, Official homepage: www.twilightning.net -- Some samples available.
